Remote Part-Time Organic Social Media Expert (0.15 FTE)
Overview
Cohlab, a Minnesota website development and digital marketing firm, seeks a skilled and motivated Organic Social Media Expert for a part-time remote position. This role involves creating, optimizing, and analyzing organic social media content to improve business branding and drive organic traffic. The position offers the flexibility of working remotely with an expected commitment of approximately 6.5 hours per week (0.15 Full-Time Equivalent). Effective time management is crucial, as this role is ideal for individuals with a separate full-time job or multiple other part-time jobs. Candidates must have a suitable home office and bring their devices (BYOD) to complete work. Growth opportunities are available stemming from this role.
Responsibilities
Initial Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Develop high-quality, engaging, and business-focused content to build a brand or drive traffic to the website.
- Planning Software: Use software to plan content forward in time and get advanced approvals from the Marketing Director and the client.
- Editing and Proofreading: Ensure all content is grammatically correct, well-structured, and error-free.
- Communication: Communicate via Gmail and Trello. Assignments will be assigned via Trello with due dates, which you must ensure are met to allow for proper editing time. One ~15-minute meeting weekly with the Marketing Director. Cohlab operates in Central Time (USA). No direct client communication will be necessary.
- Time Tracking: Time is tracked to the minute within Google Sheets to provide accountability to our digital marketing and website clients.
Possible Responsibilities (Upon Promotion and Advancement)
- Performance Analysis: Analyze content performance using tools like Meta For Business, Google Analytics, and social calendar software to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Content Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective organic social media strategies that align with client goals.
- Additional Responsibilities: Additional duties may be assigned based on the individual’s growth, interests, and the firm’s needs.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. A liberal arts degree or marketing degree is a plus.
- Experience: Professional writing experience is a plus. Professional organic social media experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with social media platform principles and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Ability to research independently and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously over the course of days or weeks.
- Familiarity with productivity software such as Trello.
- Familiarity with Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Gmail).
- Familiarity with social media calendar tools such as Loomly.
- Familiarity with tools such as Grammarly and ChatGPT.
Location & Equipment
- This is a remote position. Candidates must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office environment.
- This is a BYOD position. Candidates must have a personal laptop or desktop with a headset or speaker/microphone and a cell phone to communicate with the Marketing Director. No direct client communication will be necessary.
Supervision and Work Schedule
- Your direct supervisor and editor will be the Marketing Director.
- You can set your own working hours as long as we can connect by phone or video call once weekly for 15 minutes. The quality of your work will demonstrate whether you have spent the time effectively.
Employment Type
- Part-time (0.15 FTE, approximately 6.5 hours weekly).
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation:
- $17 hourly.
- Performance bonuses, raises, and additional responsibilities are available.
- Pay Period:
- 1st-15th | Direct Deposit to checking on the 20th (or earlier if weekend)
- 16th-end of month | Direct Deposit on the 5th (or earlier if weekend)
- Benefits:
- 1 hour of PTO per 30 hours worked.
